" but it was a lot harder than it looked"

Leave off! it was alot harder to stick it over the bar from a yard out then let hit any part of him and just trickle in. Its easily miss of the season so far and one of our worst ever. he has been superb lately but that was an absolute stinker moment

What rankles with me is there are some games where if you ain't gonna win, then don't lose. To lose at home to three bottom half sides like we have is simply nowhere near good enough. if it's a bad day, okay it happens, so take a point, but you can't be losing those games.

I completely agree that Micky should have been hooked, it was his worst performance since Palace away.a couple of seasons ago. I love the bloke and I am proud that we have him but someone should make sure his boots are on the right feet

The MASSIVE question is who the fuck do we have to substitute him for? It's clearly not Yarmo

I think everyone is going way over the top with the Bowen miss at the end. It came at him really quickly and changed trajectory with the deflection, leaving him caught in two minds.

If you look at the replay he also has a defender blocking his view as he makes the run. Just one of those things but it was a lot harder than it looked.

It was.
He might be shagging Dani Dyer but she likely doesn’t get much head.

Jesus Christ that Bowen miss is horrendous.

Harrison joins the list of average strikers our shit defending turns into world beaters
Davies of Bolton, Murray of Brighton, Deeney of Watford are a few who come to mind

Top 8 would be a good finish . Even in this season of “ bigger “ clubs being ordinary we are not consistent enough/ lack the squad for top 6 .
Only hope I think is fixture congestion might work against some others .
The failure to invest so far in this window and possibly not at all in this window will surely rank as an opportunity missed . Explaining a lack of value in the Jan window is dispelled by the successes we bought in previous Jan windows , Bowen , Soucek , Coufal. It can be done and should be done with a revamped scouting team and HOR .
Can’t help feeling we will come to regret this .

Lertie Button , that will happen , maybe the deluded fans will wake up and realise we are a top half of the table side .

Very lucky we weren't playing a decent team or we would have been tanked

Yes it's not a new problem but one from last season and Moyes has still not addressed the issue. Spurs and Man U will be stronger next season so this is will be our best chance of 4th for a while or maybe ever.

Beating Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool at home mean fuck all if you can't beat Leeds, Southampton and Brentford.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Leeds - Official Match Thread
Leeds played way better than their league position and had a few little bits of luck. (Although one huge slice of bad luck) We didn't play well. They fully deserved the win.

Yet again though, we're playing a side that's had far more rest than us. It's really not fair. I don't understand why that Norwich game had to be rescheduled where it was and not a bit later in the year. I haven't seen other teams having to play their 'make up' games with such haste.

Also again Leeds got absolutely done by VAR. It's ridiculous that goal that hit the player on the line was ruled out. Fair play if it was going wide and he diverted it in but him being there made no difference and he wasn't interfering with play in the slightest, IMO. I'd be livid if it was ruled out for us.

You defend from the front, BRANDED.

Antonio was dispossessed more times than any other player, Vlasic assisted for their 3rd goal, and Fabianski had better passing % than both of them.

Agree.

We should not look at one game in isolation and it won’t be the last time this happens.
The general trajectory of the team is still up, that’s the main thing when reviews of longer periods are done.

Fourth in goals scored but obviously the three teams immediately bellow us have played less.

I think we're one of the highest scoring teams in the league outside the top three?

We could always score more of course.

We most surely be going for the record of most 3-2 or 2-3 results in a top flight season. Think its 5 now.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Leeds - Official Match Thread
We got dumped out of the FA Cup last year, and possibly lost ground on that 4th position because we lacked strikers in the squad. Everyone knew that.

The same thing is happening this season. Everyone knows we (still) need strikers, another left back, and by the looks of it another central midfielder if he isn't going to play Kral.

It's a fair criticism I think.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Leeds - Official Match Thread
Alwaysaniron, I agree with your sentiment and good memory. My main concern is that a good manager is being made to make do when he could be the first I've ever known to give us 2 seasons in a row of a top six finish, if he's patient then fine but two of our main contributors so far will not hang about in Rice & Bowen. This is more about actually just giving a West Ham manager a squad he can have no excuses about for just once in our lifetimes.......

BRANDED 12:19 Mon Jan 17
Re: ⚽ West Ham v Leeds - Official Match Thread
We could easily be a few points more or a few points less than where we are. Its fine margins as almost all games are one goal difference. Lets hope we win the next one.
